Based in Antigua and Barbuda, EcoShores Sustainable Futures Network is dedicated to building a robust network of NGOs, private sector partners, and donor support to drive impactful local action in Antigua and Barbuda and across the Caribbean
We have a presence in the following countries and counting:
Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, St. Kitts and Nevis, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines
We work in key biodiversity areas, coastal communities, and inner cities where climate change impacts are most severe. As an EcoEquality Organization, we champion equality by promoting opportunities for women, advancing positive programs for men and boys, and supporting vulnerable populations. Our initiatives focus on:
- Conservation and Marine Management
- Crime and violence prevention, particularly among youth.
- Innovation and digital transformation to address environmental and societal challenges.
- Adhering to the principles of regenerative tourism, ensuring that our natural resources are used to create a lasting positive impact rather than being depleted.

- Education: Providing knowledge and resources to inspire environmental stewardship and sustainable development.

- Empowerment: Uplifting women, girls men, boys, and other vulnerable groups to achieve equity and resilience.
- Environment: Prioritizing the protection and restoration of biodiversity, ecosystems, and coastal areas.
- Equity: Ensuring fairness and inclusivity in all initiatives, particularly for marginalized and vulnerable groups.
- Expression: Amplifying voices through media, storytelling, and creative communications to drive awareness and inspire action.
- Economy: Promoting sustainable livelihoods and economic opportunities through eco-friendly and regenerative practices.
Finding Freedom Outside
It seemed like everyone around me knew what they were doing. I, on the other hand, was scared about not being fit enough, having the right gear, or getting caught in a bad situation. I had a lot of fears that prevented me from getting outside.
It wasn’t until after college that I went on my first backpacking trip. A lot of things went wrong on that trip, but I got a taste and I knew I wanted more.
Following that trip, life in my 20s took me to Thailand where I taught SCUBA diving, grad school in Santa Barbara and then to Washington DC where I was working in environmental policy. By then, I was out of shape, spending too many nights at happy hour and drifting further away from the “outdoorsy” person that I dreamed of being.
